Getting Started with Spotiguess
So, you just stumbled upon Spotiguess and you’re wondering what it’s all about? You’re in the right place.
Spotiguess is the best guess the song game connected to Spotify. I created it back in 2023, and I’ve made a ton of improvements since then. It’s available as a web version or an app, more on that later…
How it works
Spotiguess was designed first and foremost to be played with friends and family. Not alone, and not online.
Of course, you can play by yourself, but that’s not where the magic happens. It gets really fun when you’re at a party with people you love and you want to jump into a game together. For now, there’s deliberately no system to type in an answer, because the whole point is simply to shout the answer out loud.
Note: A lot of users have been asking for a way to enter answers and track points, so I might add that feature to the app soon, but for now, I prefer keeping the app simple.
Rules of the game
The game works in quizzes. Each quiz = 10 songs. You can do several quizzes in a row on the same theme, but the game is always structured around this 10-song format.
To start, you choose which theme or artist you want to play. You have 4 choices:
- Artist: Pick an artist and play only with their tracks.
- Playlist: Pick any Spotify playlist (yours or one from the community). This is the most popular mode because you can find any genre or decade.
- Liked Songs: Only your own liked tracks. This is the ultimate test—if you get beaten by a friend on your own songs, it’s honestly pretty embarrassing :)
- AI: Ask the AI to generate whatever quiz you want. Maximum customization for whatever is on your mind.
Once you’ve selected your source, the app fetches the songs and randomly segments them into quizzes. Then, you’re ready to go!
Game Modes
There are two ways to play: Auto and Manual.

- Auto Mode: Songs play and skip automatically. You have 15 seconds to find each song before the result pops up.
- Manual Mode: You control when to show the result. You can also pause if you need more time to think.
Both modes are great; it just depends on the vibe of your night. If you want total control, go Manual. If you want to let the app do the work, go Auto. Personally, I’m a fan of Auto mode, but you do you!
Is it free?
You can play 5 quizzes per day for free. After that, you can buy passes for a set duration. Check out this page for more info.
Where to play Spotiguess?
Spotiguess is available on both web and mobile.
Both versions have the same features right now, but I highly recommend downloading the app. I’ll be releasing new updates there first, and it’s honestly just a better experience on mobile.
